History

JPLegal was formerly known as John Pastro & Co Solicitors having been established by its founder John Pastro in Burgundy Street, Heidelberg in 1993. During this period, the firm has represented a diverse range of client’s including private individuals, businesses and companies in the areas of Family, Business and Property Law.

In 2008, the firm’s headquarters underwent a significant renovation and extension maintaining the building’s original façade which, according to the Heidelberg Historical Society, dates back to c1890.

In 2012, John Pastro & Co Solicitors was incorporated to become known as JPLegal Pty Ltd and strengthened with the addition John’s daughter, Kathryn and subsequently his son, Nicholas joining the firm. The practice has continued to grow and now maintains a strong client base serviced by a skilled and motivated team of lawyers and support staff.

In 2013, the firm established JPConveyancing as a corporate authorised representative of JPLegal as a specialised team within JPLegal to handle all conveyancing matters.

The team at JPlegal place extreme importance on modern technology and resources which enable its lawyers and staff to represent clients in the most efficient and effective manner.

The cornerstone of excellent legal representation is people powered however, utilising modern and innovative technology is also paramount to ensure client’s expectations are met and their best interests are protected. Our legal software is cloud based and licensed from Leap Legal which is a database that enables us to provide a faster, paperless way of accessing client’s files and information from anywhere at any time.

The firm also uses PEXA which is a software that has transformed and streamlined the conveyancing industry. JPLegal adopted PEXA in 2015 to create a simpler and faster way to settle clients property transaction.
