John has practised law since graduating from the University of Melbourne in 1976. Since that time John worked at some of Melbourne’s most reputable law firms before establishing his own legal practice in Heidelberg in 1993.
John has since built a successful and evolving law firm and has over 30 years experience in family, property and business law. John receives referrals from a wide variety of fellow professionals including accountants, financial planners, barristers and other legal offices.
John provides his clients with representation that is caring and empathetic whilst utilizing his extensive academic and practical experience to ensure that his client’s interests are met and that they are able to move forward with security and dignity. John is an active member of the Law Institute of Victoria and the Northern Suburbs Law Association.
Nicholas graduated from La Trobe University in Melbourne in 2009 with a Bachelor of Laws Degree. In 2010 he graduated from the Leo Cussen Institute with a Diploma in Legal Practice and was admitted to practice in the Supreme Court of Victoria and the High Court of Australia. He began his legal career working in a Melbourne based commercial law firm before joining JPLegal in 2011.
Nicholas has gained a wealth of experience in the area of Family & Relationship Law including complex property settlements involving the division of corporate structures and significant property holdings. He has acted in a broad range of Family Law matters with both parenting and property issues, including matters involving third parties to proceedings, superannuation splitting and family trusts.
Nicholas is a member of the Young Lawyers’ Section of the Law Institute of Victoria.
Amanda holds a Bachelor of Laws with Honours from the University of Edinburgh, Scotland. Following her graduation in 2010, Amanda travelled to Australia and quickly fell in love with the country. In 2013, Amanda completed a conversion to Australian law at Monash University, Melbourne and was awarded the Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice at the Leo Cussen Centre for Law, Melbourne, in 2014. Amanda was admitted to practice in the Supreme Court of Victoria in September 2014.
During her studies at Monash University, Amanda participated in the Law Faculty’s barrister shadowing program from which she secured a position working as a legal research assistant. Prior to joining JPLegal, Amanda tried her hand at Criminal law working with a firm servicing the Melbourne metropolitan region, where she appeared as a solicitor advocate in the Magistrates Court, both in the city and at the suburban courts
Amanda is a member of the Young Lawyers’ Section of the Law Institute of Victoria.
Vanessa graduated from RMIT University in 2010 with a Bachelor of Arts (Criminal Justice Administration) degree. She commenced her career working within the criminal justice system. During this time Vanessa continued her studies, undertaking a Bachelor of Laws at LaTrobe University in Melbourne, graduating in 2014. In 2015, she graduated from the Leo Cussen Institute with a Diploma in Legal Practice and was admitted to practice in the Supreme Court of Victoria.
Vanessa is a member of the Law Institute of Victoria. Her interests include skiing, tennis and travelling.
Kathryn graduated University with a Bachelor of Arts (Legal Studies), Graduate Diploma in Business Studies and a Diploma of Education (Secondary). She went on to work in the Young Lawyers’ Section at the Law Institute of Victoria before taking on the role as Business Manager of the firm. Her role involves managing staff training & development, implementing and maintaining the Leap software & precedents and providing support to the Solicitors. She is also responsible for the promotion and general management of the firm. She looks after new client enquiries, existing client services and quality control.
